Welcome!

My name is Sylvie Barton and I am the intervention teacher at St James Church School. My current role is to offer additional support to children during school time.

Forest Phonics (R, Yr 1, Yr 2)

These sessions are in class bubbles and take place outside. We will be playing a range of fun Phonics games aimed to consolidate blending and segmenting knowledge.

Growth Mindset/Metacognition (Yr 4, 5, 6)

Aimed at Years 4-6, these sessions focus on the brain and developing effective behaviours for learning. We talk about our own growth mindset and how this impacts our learning and progress at school.

Additional Writing Support (R,Y1,2,3,4)

These sessions are held in year groups, focusing on developing and applying the skills they need in their independent writing.

LKS2 Fluency (Y3 & 4)

These 30 minute sessions are aimed at developing fluency and comprehension in LKS2 children.
