Phonics overview for Spring 1
Week 1 4/1/21 |
Recap any sounds that the children have not achieved during the flash card revisit. Recap how we use our stamping fingers with some simple CVC word cards.
Make CVC words using the flash cards by asking children to hold them. Encourage children to stamp their fingers.
Can we put some CVC words into a sentence now? Have the words The cat sat on the mat’ all jumbled up. Children to help make the sentence and then demonstrate how we would read that sentence going back to the start. Teach ‘qu’ using Jolly Phonics Teach reading ‘we’, ‘me’, ‘be’, ‘she’, ‘he’ |

Revisit and review all sounds and sight words learnt in phase 2 and 3.

Practise: Blending for reading with new sound Apply: segmenting for writing with new sound.
