Children's Parliament

Our school was chosen, from all Somerset Primary schools to be part of a debate competition, run annually in Somerset. The topic was ‘Giving Young people A Voice”.

Twelve primary schools were chosen to attend the day at Council Chambers, Shire Hall Hall. Each school had to prepare and present a debate item, 5 minutes to present (no IT allowed) then 5 minutes taking questions from judges and the floor.

Jeremy Browne opened it.

Our team of four presented on global warming, they were amazing.

We are proud to say, on our first time of entering, we came runners up to a very experienced schools, and the judges came across to us after and commented on the self assurance of our speakers, they said it was a really close call.

Well done Oscar, Sam, Daniella and Holly who presented, and to Summer who had her first experience of judging.
