English 9.30-10.30 |
Introduction
|
WALT write the opening of a diary entry. Please see today’s videos on Dojo introducing the lesson. |
Independent activities |
Today we are writing the first two paragraphs of our diary entry. We will pretend to be Mary Anning and use the first two drawings from our plan to help.
Have another look at the ‘Example Diary Entry’ on the Year 2 English page. We can use similar features in our diary entries. https://www.stjamessch.co.uk/english-1/
What does the opening paragraph of the diary tell you? Today might be the day which could change our lives forever! If I am correct, then we will no longer be poor and my name will be known across the whole country!
The opening of a diary tells us the writer’s feelings about their day.
The second paragraph describes how events began.
