Blended Learning

During this unusual time it is even more important that we maintain a strong connection with our pupils and parents/carers who may find themselves learning/supporting their child’s learning remotely for a period of time. You do not need to do this alone and we are here to help! We will continue to use our online learning platform of Class Dojo to communicate and give feedback and support.

Our approach to Blended Learning is detailed here:

In each year group page you will find a weekly timetable. This covers the key skills that children need continued practise with (times tables, reading etc) and also an overview of the learning in English, Maths and the other areas of the curriculum for the given week.

This is a suggested timetable that we feel will support children to have a healthy routine, but please do not feel pressured into completing everything. The home learning needs to work for you as a family whatever the circumstances and it is important to not add pressure and stress at this time. Most importantly, follow these principles and we look forward to seeing you when you return to school.

1. Read Read Read.  There is nothing more important to help your brain grow.

2. Do something every day that makes you smile.

3. Make lots of memories to tell us all about when we see you back in school.

4. Stay safe

If you are self isolating, or your child is unable to come into school, please follow the information on their year group page to continue their learning at home. Your child's class teacher will message you on Class Dojo to signpost you to this page. Please be aware that class teachers will not be able to respond during the school day as they are in class teaching.

We aim for the weekly curriculum information to be posted by Monday for each week.

In the event of a year group needing to self isolate, a structured and more thorough timetable will be added to your child's year group page to support you to continue your child's educational journey at home. It is important to us that we support every child to continue their academic progress during this difficult time. All the learning completed at home can be tracked online by your child's class teacher and submitted on Class Dojo. Given the overwhelmingly positive feedback regarding the home learning set during the national lockdown, we will be continuing to use Class Dojo as our online learning platform enabling teachers to give feedback and track each child's progress virtually.

We aim for the home learning timetable and set tasks to be available 24 hours after any school closure.
