Home Learning 11th - 15th January

Please see below for a daily timetable supporting you and your child to continue to access the curriculum at home. Please refer to the blended learning homepage for the principles and advice guiding our home learning offer. We endeavour to provide links that are accessible via  a mobile phone and the learning can then be recorded on paper if appropriate. This can be shared via Class Dojo to enable your child's class teacher to provide feedback and guide you and your child on the next steps in their learning.

Friday 15th January 2021

Word of the Day

Try and use this word in a sentence.

We are starting a new jigsaw piece this week called dreams and goals.

Look at the pictures below.  Do you think that anyone is facing a challenge? What is a challeng? It’s a difficulty that people overcome. No one faces the same challenges as another person.  Knowing this, who do you think is facing the biggest challenge and why?

Order the pictures from the greatest challenge to the smallest.  (Do not worry if you can’t print these out you can write who  is in each picture).  Upload your ideas onto DoJo

Finally who do you think will face their challenge the best and why?  Order the pictures from who will cope the best to who will cope the least and upload these ideas onto DoJo.

Have you or anyone you know ever faced a challenge?

It’s Big Write Day!  The video below will help you get ready to write your amazing set of instructions.  After you have uploaded your writing to DoJo, why not get someone at home to try making a hot chocolate using your directions.

Log in to Numbots and challenge yourself at some of the activities on there.

Challenge each other to count in 2’s, 5’s and 10’s and 1’s from any number

If you have completed your baseline assessment on Garage, try to complete another 3 or 4 games today.

As it is Big Write day there is no Maths lesson today.

Instead, there is an arithmetic quiz for you to have a go at. This is the first Year 3 quiz that we have done so please do not worry if you find things tricky.  We have not yet learnt everything in Year 3.

WALT use our knowledge of PE skills to create new games

Mrs Grattan and Miss Lacy challenge you to create a socially distanced game that can be played indoors or outdoors.  It needs to be an active game, something that gets you moving or improves your PE skills such as throwing, catching, batting etc.

Once you have designed and played your game post pictures or a video or a description onto DoJo so that we can try the games ourselves.  You never know they may appear in PE when you are back in school.

Guided Reading

We have a special film Friday this week.  Click on the following link at 11am to watch a live lesson from Paignton Zoo about habitats.  There will be animals and it only lasts about 15 minutes.  If you miss the live show you will be able to see a recording of the show still.  Once you have watched the lesson please write down something that you have learnt that you didn’t know before and something you found interesting.  Let us know what you thought of the live lesson on DoJo.        then click on education  and school  from the zoo.

Please read on bug club at least 3 times a week

or read your book and quiz on Accelerated Reader.
