Forest School:

Please make sure your child has their forest school kit in school at all times. This should be clothes that you do not mind getting muddy, a coat and a spare pair of shoes (preferably wellies).

At St James Church School we use Class Dojo to keep all parents/carers up to date with the fun things happening in each class. Each week we will post something about our exciting week. Feel free to message us with any questions you may have about your child's learning. đź™‚  https://www.classdojo.com/

Homework Expectations

Reading -

It is expected that children read on Bug Club at least 3 times per week. This is a fantastic interactive resource that is easy to use and is tailored to the children's phonics development with decodable books which are full of characters the children will be familiar with. New books will be added every Friday.

Children will also have the opportunity to bring a book home from our reading area. This is an opportunity for an adult at home to read to them and discuss. These can be changed daily.

Phonics and Maths -

The children have their own Homework Journal which is to stay at home. Every Friday we will send home phonics or maths homework for the children to complete. A picture of the finished learning should then be uploaded to their Class Dojo portfolio and placed into their journal for safe keeping.
