Take a look at our past School Council activities while you are waiting for our 2017/18 news and updates to be added to our School Forum page.
The School Council discussed which charity they would like to raise money for this academic year. Overwhelmingly, the suggestions were for children's cancer charities. It was decided that they would raise money for the charity CFC ( Cyclists Fighting Cancer), who provide bikes , some of which are specially adapted for children fighting or recovering from cancer.
Our first fundraising event was a cake stall on Friday 22nd January, 2016
. Thank you for the donated cakes , they were delicious.
We raised £35.51. Thank you to all the cake eaters.
The School Council are planning a sponsored cycle/ scooter ride to raise money for CFC towards the end of the Spring term. They have sent a questionnaire to classes to find out how many children have cycles and can ride them. They are keen to encourage children to walk, scoot or cycle to school and are devising some fun activities to inspire this.
During Parents' Day we surveyed the parents to find out your cycling habits. We are currently complying the results. Early indicators are that more children would cycle if they had bikes which were road worthy. The School Council are trying to organize some bike mechanic sessions for both children and adults.
